A fast-growing global payments infrastructure company is building the financial rails that help SMEs and enterprises move money across borders instantly, using a powerful combination of traditional banking networks and blockchain-enabled stablecoin technology.

The engineering team is distributed, fast-moving, and obsessed with building secure, scalable systems for real-world financial transactions.

They're now looking for a Senior Software Engineer (C# .NET) to help architect and deliver the backend APIs powering next-gen payments.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and build high-performance API services using C# .NET and modern AWS infrastructure.
You'll own critical parts of the backend, integrate crypto payment logic, and ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and scalable.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked in fintech, banking, digital payments, or blockchain, someone who understands the weight of building financial-grade systems.

What You'll Be Doing
API & Backend Development

  • Architect and build secure, scalable APIs in .NET 8, powering payment and stablecoin transactions.

  • Implement high-reliability integrations with external payment, KYC, and identity providers.

  • Build recurring jobs, background processing, and webhook-driven workflows.

Crypto & Blockchain Integration

  • Develop features that interact with blockchain rails and stablecoin flows.

  • Build mock services for providers without test environments to ensure seamless integration.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement best-practice secure API patterns (auth, encryption, auditing).

  • Work with sensitive financial data with zero margin for error.

Cloud & DevOps Collaboration

  • Deploy and optimise backend services using AWS (Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB, S3, etc.).

  • Work with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

  • Build Dockerised services and microservices for scalable container-based deployment.

Monitoring & Observability

  • Use tools like DataDog to ensure high uptime, detect issues early, and maintain system health.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

  • Conduct code reviews, suggest improvements, and push for engineering excellence.

Tech Stack

  • Backend: .NET 8, C#, EF Core, Hangfire, RestEase, NUnit

  • Data: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions

  • Auth & Monitoring: Auth0, DataDog

  • Domain: Payment providers, identity verification, stablecoin rails

Who We're Looking For
Must-Haves

  • 5+ years building production backend systems with C# .NET

  • Strong experience designing and developing API-driven architectures

  • Commercial experience in fintech, banking, payments, or blockchain

  • Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB, S3, etc.)

  • Strong database skills with PostgreSQL

  • Experience with containerised environments (Docker)

  • A mindset suited for early-stage startups — ownership, speed, and autonomy

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with stablecoin or blockchain payment flows

  • Familiarity with DataDog for logs, metrics, and alerts

  • Experience with Auth0 or similar identity/access providers

  • Background in building integration-heavy services with multiple third-party APIs

  • Knowledge of financial compliance considerations is a bonus
