Description

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our FIS Cloud Platform team. This is a critical role in building and evolving our internal developer platform as a product, enabling our engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications at speed.

You will be part of a skilled and collaborative team, responsible for the design, development, operation, and security of our platform. You bring a deep understanding of Kubernetes in production, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize), and modern cloud-native architecture. You think in platforms, not projects, and see platform engineering as a product with internal developers as your customers.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate the internal developer platform across its full lifecycle – from initial concept through continuous delivery and support.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Kustomize.
  • Operate and support Kubernetes-based infrastructure in production environments with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Leverage the Argo ecosystem (Argo CD, Workflows, Rollouts) to enable modern GitOps workflows and progressive delivery strategies.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Argo Workflows, enabling efficient build, test, and deploy processes.
  • Embed Security by Design principles throughout the platform and tooling, ensuring compliance with internal and external security standards.
  • Drive observability and operational excellence using tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to deliver platform capabilities as a service, focusing on ease of use, reliability, and self-service.
  • Shape the platform roadmap by participating in discovery phases, gathering requirements, and aligning with stakeholders.
  • Foster knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team and across the organization through documentation, enablement, and coaching.
Qualifications
  • Production experience running and supporting Kubernetes clusters, including monitoring, scaling, patching, and disaster recovery.
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Kustomize.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, including services such as EKS, ECS, MSK, and RDS.
  • Hands-on experience with the Argo toolset (Argo CD, Workflows, Rollouts) for GitOps, CI/CD, and release management.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design using Jenkins, Docker, and related automation tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of observability stacks including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native security principles, IAM, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
  • Experience in agile software development environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, security, and product teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A DevOps mindset, with a passion for automation, platform thinking, and enabling development teams to move faster and more safely.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and learning.
