Junior Software Engineer in Data Migration Team

Who we are looking for
We are currently looking for new colleague to join our core banking Data Migration Team for the position of a
Junior Software Engineer.
Successful candidate will engage in full lifecycle of complex, international core banking implementation projects for systems such as Temenos Transact (T24), Thought Machine Vault and more. Candidate main focus will be on data transformation and migration area, being personally accountable for end-to-end delivery. Candidate day-to-day work will involve usage and development of migration tools and accelerators, migration transformation processes development, database modeling, SQL queries preparation and optimization and migration process engineering.

• Technical mindset combined with being a problem-solver and a quick learner.
• Great English verbal and written communication skills (ability to work with International Clients).
• Comfortable with information technology, systems, and data.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Being able to understand design documents and implement design requirements.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Commitment to a continuous attention to detail and highest quality of project deliverables.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree (both Bachelor's and Master's can be in progress).

Technologies:

• Experience (can be academic) in a programming language (Python and/or Java)
• Spark Framework
• SQL and database modelling
• GitLab
• XML

Desirable, nice to have:

• Knowledge of and experience in banking sector
• Experience in delivery projects (preferably Banking, but not a must)
• Technologies:
• UML and/or BPMN
• Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket)
• Java (or other programing language)
• Knowledge of software lifecycle
• Linux basic
• Rest API
• Ability to travel internationally for at least 50% of time.

Your future role

• Developing data migration transformation rules based on design documents while being in constant contact with data migration analysts to correctly understand the requirements.
• Modelling databases, preparing DDL, DQL and DML queries for data migration transformation purposes.
• Developing tools and accelerator used in data migration process.
• Optimizing transformation processes and migration solutions according to gold standards and the most up to date knowledge.
• Participating in development and being its owner during all further stages of the development lifecycle, which means cooperation with other migration team members (developers, analysts, team leaders).
• Participating in all stages of migration project delivery lifecycle.
• Provide day-by-day support on the ongoing projects, including participation in production rollouts of new systems or functionalities.
• Staying up to date and specialize in product we deliver by obtaining vendor certifications.
• Sharing ideas for improvements either in processes or in the tools used to deliver data migration projects.
