We're Hiring: Python Developer / Data Engineer (Energy Trading)

At Seagull Energy Trading, we combine technology with market expertise to compete in the fast-paced world of European intraday power trading.

We're a Warsaw-based startup with a working trading infrastructure, in-house data platform, and live operations across several European markets.

Now we're looking for a hands-on Python developer who can take over and further develop our existing systems, helping us scale automation, data pipelines, and analytical tools — with a clear growth path toward technical leadership as we expand.

Your Role

You'll take ownership of our current data and analytics stack — improving, expanding, and maintaining the pipelines and models that drive our trading decisions.

Expect to work directly with live market data, implement automation, and collaborate closely with the trading team to turn data into tangible market advantage.

The role is primarily technical and hands-on today but designed to evolve into a technology leadership position as we grow our operations and infrastructure.

Tech Stack

  • Python (Pandas, asyncio, requests, NumPy)
  • PostgreSQL (data models, indexing, queries)
  • Docker, Linux CLI, Git

Nice to Have

  • FastAPI / Streamlit / Prefect
  • InfluxDB / Grafana
  • Basic DevOps (CI/CD, cron, logging)
  • Experience with time-series or market data
  • Interest in financial or energy markets

Who You Are

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in backend or data engineering
  • Confident with Python and SQL — you write clean, production-level code
  • Understands how to structure and scale data systems
  • Comfortable working independently and taking technical ownership
  • Curious about how technology can improve trading and real-time decision-making
