About your pdfFiller Team

We are a team of 120+ passionate builders shaping the future of our online PDF creator and editor — pdfFiller.

Every month, more than 10 million people rely on pdfFiller to create and edit PDFs, send documents for signing, and securely store their files — all within one intuitive platform. With unlimited storage, unlimited templates, and seamless cross-platform integration, pdfFiller is designed to help users get their work done faster and smarter.

And now we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to join us and play an important role in the next chapter of our product's evolution.

• Work on the CORE functionality of a large, high-load product used by millions worldwide.
• Direct influence on product stability, scalability, and architectural direction.
• A mix of challenges: backend engineering, performance optimization, internal tooling, platform integrations.
• Close collaboration with DevOps, Security, Performance Engineering, and cross-functional product teams.
• Opportunity to contribute to long-term architectural evolution and engineering best practices.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance CORE platform components and internal backend services.
• Shape architectural decisions, contribute to system simplification and modernization.
• Build secure, reliable, high-performance backend solutions.
• Work closely with DevOps to improve CI/CD, observability, deployment workflows, and system reliability.
• Support and elevate security initiatives, including authentication/authorization approaches (RBAC/ABAC).
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable new product capabilities built on top of the CORE platform.

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years with PHP
• Strong expertise with PHP and the Laravel ecosystem
• Solid experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and distributed storage systems (e.g., Redis)
• Understanding of secure coding principles and modern authentication/authorization approaches
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized environments
• Background working with high-load systems or platform-level services is a strong advantage
• English proficiency suitable for technical discussions
