For our long-term business partner in the digitization and telecommunications industry, we are looking for experienced Go (Golang) Developers to join an international initiative among EU member states focused on advancing cloud technologies and infrastructure.

The goal of the project is to strengthen Europe's digital sovereignty by fostering innovation in cloud services, enhancing data security, and increasing competitiveness in the global digital market.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 12+ months

Workload: Full-time (100%)

Location: 100% Remote

Project language: English (German is an advantage)

Go (Golang) Developer – Cloud Services

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend applications in Go, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-level Go solutions supporting automated operations.
  • Work in a scaled agile environment, collaborating across teams and disciplines.
  • Translate holistic business requirements into effective, production-ready code.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, including thorough documentation, testing, and peer reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with teams focused on security, AI, and cloud services.

Our requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5–10 years of professional IT experience, primarily in Golang and cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native application development.
  • Solid knowledge of virtualization, containerization, and cloud networking.
  • Proven experience with Go backend development, including APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (especially operator development).
  • Proficiency with communication protocols: REST, gRPC, Protobuf.
  • Database expertise: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
  • Experience with Identity & Access Management (e.g., Keycloak, OIDC, OAuth); familiarity with SSI, DID, VC is a plus.
  • Experience integrating event-driven services (e.g., Kafka, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of concurrency mechanisms and scheduling in Go.
  • Excellent command of Git and branching strategies.
  • Daily experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD preferred).
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
