Description
The team develops advanced indoor and outdoor wireless communication technologies used in mission-critical industrial environments. These solutions support high-reliability broadband wireless connectivity for customers across utilities, oil and gas, mining, industrial hubs, and smart city sectors.

The engineering organization builds large-scale wireless networking systems and device-management platforms used worldwide. The R&D Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for software, hardware, and tools development, ensuring the long-term evolution of a global networking product line.

Requirements
4+ years of experience managing software development teams, including embedded systems and device-management solutions.

Experience managing hardware development and leading new product introduction into production.

Strong understanding of wireless communication technologies including 4G, 5G, LTE, and related networking standards.

Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC): requirements, development, validation, configuration management in an agile environment.

Knowledge of wireless technologies, network infrastructure, and infrastructure security.

Strong leadership qualities: ability to motivate, develop, and guide engineering teams.

Excellent communication in English (spoken and written).

Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week.

Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, challenge the status quo, and develop pragmatic technical solutions.

Job responsibilities

Product & Technology Direction

• Create product portfolio roadmaps and execute mid- to long-term strategy (3–5 years).
• Define technology roadmaps for software, hardware, and tools, ensuring alignment with product strategy.

Project & Delivery Management

• Plan and execute development projects (1–3 years) according to technology and product roadmaps.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, high-value products with sustainable R&D velocity.
• Oversee project portfolio planning, resource allocation, and workload balancing.

People Leadership

• Manage engineering teams, assign tasks, supervise performance, and ensure development of key competencies.
• Maintain proper team structure, staffing, and skill development.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Process, Tools & Quality

• Ensure efficient and high-quality project execution using the best internal and external resources.
• Recommend and implement process improvements, development standards, and quality practices.
• Monitor product quality, defect backlog, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Finance & Reporting

• Track budgets, forecasts, and provide regular reports to global management.

Product Lifecycle Management

• Plan and oversee full product lifecycle, including field issue management and continuous improvements.
• Drive investigations, lessons learned, and apply findings in upcoming releases.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Support, and Sales to represent engineering needs.
• Evaluate market and standardization requirements and translate them into development direction.

Risk & Intellectual Property

• Identify and mitigate risks within the R&D domain.
• Participate in protection of intellectual property and reporting of potential IP issues.
