Project Description
As a Frontend Engineering Manager / Competence Lead, you'll split your time between hands-on software development, leading technical excellence, and guiding the professional growth of frontend developers across multiple projects and product teams.

Role Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Development

• Guide teams in the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-quality frontend applications using Angular (v16) and complementary technologies
• Build and maintain shared component libraries to ensure consistency and reusability across multiple web applications
• Champion clean code principles, robust design patterns, and the adoption of modern web development standards
• Ensure solutions align with architectural, security, and accessibility guidelines, including CORS, CSP, Responsive Web Design (RWD), and WCAG standards
• Lead code reviews, facilitate technical knowledge-sharing sessions, and drive adoption of continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices

Competence Lead Duties

• Team Growth & Development: Conduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching and performance feedback, support career path planning, and run improvement programs when needed
• Operational Excellence: Implement and monitor adherence to standards, work methods, and development best practices in coordination with the Competence Owner
• Resource Planning & Allocation: Assign engineers to the right projects and support effective rotations between domains and products
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between Competence Centers and Domain/Product teams to ensure aligned delivery and knowledge sharing
• Culture & Engagement: Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture. Promote adaptability, support change initiatives, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards

Education
Must-have requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Must-Have Technical Skills

• 6+ years of proven experience in frontend development, including technical leadership and mentoring of development teams (ideally 10 or more members)
• Strong experience with Angular 2+ (v16 preferred)
• Good understanding of Angular Material
• Solid command of RxJS / Reactive Programming
• Responsive Web Design (RWD) and Web Application Security best practices
• REST API integration and Web Components
• Experience with quality and version control tools: Git, Bitbucket, SonarQube
• CI/CD knowledge: Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, Nexus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Very good command of English
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proven technical leadership: mentoring, code reviews, and coaching team members
• Passion for code quality and test automation
• Working experience in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Experience developing accessible web applications in compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards
• Familiarity with other modern frontend frameworks such as or React
• Proven experience in creating and maintaining reusable component libraries
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), Kubernetes, and observability tools such as Datadog
• Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth2 and Auth0
• Experience working with Figma or collaborating closely with UX/UI designers
• Knowledge of microfrontend architecture and modular frontend design
• Background in design systems and UI/UX best practices
• Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, and frontend testing frameworks like Jest
• Experience with NX or other monorepo management tools
