Cognos/Apparo Developer

Our team is part of Cost Processing & Transactions cluster. The cluster provides standard reporting for controlling group costs, processes the accounts payable and travel expense reports, and makes the system landscape available to numerous customers in the CFO department.

We are a diverse international team with around 150 employees in Frankfurt, Bremen, Hamburg, Lodz and Prague and have clients in Germany and abroad. We are responsible for around 200 accounting and controlling processes and 45 IT products, from A as accounting to Z like Zet-Visions and are therefore active in the heart of Commerzbank.

With systems created by our team we are meeting demands which cannot be met by "box" products. We develop and maintain applications used in controlling environment (group and segment controlling) which provide planning, analysis and reporting functions. Working close with business we can quicly adapt them to current regulations and needs.

What you will be doing?

• Develop, implement, and maintain reporting solutions using IBM Cognos and Apparo tools.
• Collaborate closely with the business unit to understand complex business needs and translate them into efficient technical solutions.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports and dashboards for regulatory reporting purposes while maintaining compliance with data quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with existing Cognos and Apparo applications.
• Optimize and improve existing reporting processes for efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to agile workflows by participating in stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure timely and quality delivery.
• Support end-users of the business unit by troubleshooting issues and providing training where needed
• Stay updated on developments in the IBM Cognos and Apparo ecosystem.

Which technology & skills are important for us?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience working with IBM Cognos and Apparo.
• Expertise in designing and optimizing ETL processes, Cognos Framework Manager, and data model .
• Minimum basic knowledge of Apparo Tools or willingness to learns and deepen your knowledge.
• Familiarity with connecting Cognos and Apparo reporting tools to underlying data sources, such as BigQuery on the GCP cloud.
• Ability to handle complex requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions.
• Basic knowledge of JIRA/Confluence
• English (B2 level)
