The Data Engineering team is part of Cloud Technology Group. which delivers cutting-edge cloud and edge networking solutions to the market. We design, implement, deploy and operate data streaming platforms with a primary mission to enable product teams to develop high-performing operationally safe and secure products in an agile manner.

As a Software Engineer II, you will join a team of software and platform engineers. Your team will enhance platform core services and will design and develop DevOps tools for managing 100%. availability and three 9's performance and reliability SLOs for FedRAMP, GDPR and SOX compliant data streaming platform.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

Contributing to the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and performant solutionsBuilding, integrating, and supporting FedRAMP compliance for data streaming services on Akamai PlatformDesigning and developing DevOps tools to make the software delivery system run seamlesslyDeveloping processes and tools to monitor, analyze, maintain and improve streaming data pipelines usability and observabilityDeveloping and implementing procedures for automating operational tasksstreamlining day-to-day work with focus on FedRAMP and SOX compliance

To be successful in this role you will:

Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalentHave relevant experience as a system or platform engineer and in creating, maintaining and migrating REST APIsHave experience with SQL and software development using at least 2 out of Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript is nice to haveHave experience with distributed systems and Linux networking (incl. TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, HTTP)Possess experience with contemporary DevOps practices and CI/CD and need to have eagerness to learnHave experience with massive data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, etc), data streaming concepts and design principles (Data Modeling, Streaming vs Batch processing, Distributed Messaging, etc)
