Senior Java Engineer

Our client is a leading organization in the financial sector, successfully engaged in trading fixed-income products for many years. To support this, a globally distributed, component-based IT system has been developed, primarily built in Java and leveraging various enterprise technologies and standards such as JMS, ORM, Spring, WebServices, and REST, while also integrating other technologies, including TCP/IP networking, bash scripting, Perl, Python, and C++.

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary agile team within this global financial institution, working closely with the business and technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

This role offers a hybrid model, allowing you to work three days a week from our office in Kraków.

Responsibilities

• Provide technology solutions that address business problems, and design and implement software components according to requirements
• Take responsibility for ensuring the delivery and quality standards of the software
• Spend time with customers to determine and understand deliverables
• Support the business in platform rationalization and optimization
• Continue reducing technical debt and promoting platform standardization
• Support the business in migrating to a strategic platform
• Collaborate with other IT teams across the globe

Requirements

• Proficiency in the Java programming language and related frameworks, including Spring
• A good understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and Linux
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Proficient at analyzing and debugging large, existing codebases
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with enterprise messaging technologies such as Tibco RV, EMS, or Kafka
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates and Apache Tomcat
• Experience with build tools like Maven and Ant and version control systems like GitLab
• Understanding of agile methodologies and microservices architecture
• Experience with Azure and containerization technologies
