Pricing Associate, Excess Casualty Pricing
Wrocław, Poland

AXA XL offers property, casualty, financial lines and specialty insurance and reinsurance solutions for mid-sized companies through to large multinationals globally.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Pricing and Analytics team at AXA XL working in our Wrocław office. You would be producing metrics reporting, actuarial analyses, and tools for the North American Excess Casualty business largely written out of the USA and Bermuda. Summary of the position/team, etc.

What You'll Be DOING
What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Take part in training to develop understanding of actuarial principles, P&C insurance products, pricing processes, and rating methods.
  • Assist in the execution of pricing processes, such as entering data accurately into systems and documenting workflow processes and changes.
  • Support the regular monitoring of rate change and profitability metrics. Query outliers, improve data quality and coverage, and perform audits. Maintain and streamline existing actuarial data collection processes, reports, and tools. Make sure compliance with Pricing Model Standards across these processes.
  • Assist in testing, maintaining, and improving actuarial pricing models, dashboards, reports, and tools. Gain hands-on experience with actuarial tools, techniques, and programming languages.
  • Conduct data analyses following established procedures. Support ad hoc analyses, with manager actuarial guidance, to assess portfolio performance and support strategic insights.

You will report to a qualified actuary on the North America Excess Casualty, Insurance Pricing & Analytics team.

What You Will BRING
We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • Robust analytical, mathematical, and research skills.
  • Willing to work hybrid from the Wroclaw, Poland office

Desired Skills And Abilities

  • Experience solving problems in Excel, R, Python, SQL, or another analytical application
  • Coding, analytics, and/or dashboard building skills in R or R-Shiny
  • Motivated, organized, strategic thinker with a outstanding collaborative work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and integrity.
  • Ability to effectively articulate complex information in a clear, concise, and insightful way.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and eager to learn in dynamic environments.
