Senior Back-End Engineer

We are looking for a Senior BE Developer.  This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development and enhancement of client's core platforms and services, which are used by major institutions across both public and private sectors.

You will join an extension team of our client, a global leader that specialises in cybercrime detection, disruption, and takedowns. The company's portfolio includes partnerships with four of the world's largest companies, twelve of the top fifty banks, and five national governments, making it a trusted authority in the cyber-security space.

Central to achievements is its advanced technology platform, that enables the company to combat cyber threats with remarkable efficiency through automated processes. With this approach, the company swiftly identifies and neutralises online threats, providing clients with a robust shield against cyberattacks.

• Design, develop, and optimise backend services using Golang, ensuring high performance and scalability to support global workloads and real-time cyber threat detection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the core technology platform, contributing to features that protect major institutions against phishing, malware, and other cyber threats.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and maintaining high standards of code quality and security.
• Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies, applying insights to strengthen platform capabilities and security posture.

• Commercial experience in Golang for feature creation and improvements to existing code
• Experience working with SQL databases (such as MySQL, Postgres, MariaDB), including schema design, and writing and optimising complex queries.
• Experience in scaling solutions to handle a varying workload, to handle global social media activity.
• An understanding of Queueing and Caching solutions
• Experience with modern CI/CD tools (gitlab pipeline or other)
• Experience with the peer review process including reviewing code and providing clear, well considered feedback

Nice to have

• Experience with Perl.
• Experience with AWS services and infrastructure or similar cloud provider.
• Exposure to Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and Docker or other containerization technologies
• Experience with TypeScript (or JavaScript). Other front-end scripting experience a plus.
• Experience in web automation, crawling, or online data acquisition.
• Have a strong understanding of non-functional requirements such as security and performance.
• Experience with Android emulation and Java.
• A keen interest in the changing Social Media platform landscape.
• A keen interest in cybercrime or cyber security.
