The Role
The AP/AR accountant is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of the company's accounting books for the assigned brand in the areas of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable (AR/AP), Fixed Assets (F/A), accruals and foreign exchange settlements, ensuring full compliance with legal regulations, the Accounting Act, group reporting standards and other relevant requirements. The AP/AR accountant also supports the company in tax-related topics and reporting.

Main Functions/Responsibilities

  • Booking and monitoring

Verify and post documents, including check of the accuracy of purchase and sales invoices, coding, and timely entry into the accounting system

  • Monitor invoice compliance with purchase orders and contracts and resolve any discrepancies

Oversee timely payments to suppliers, prepare payment proposals, and manage electronic transfers

Reconcile supplier balances, confirm balances, and promptly clarify any differences

Issue sales invoices, monitor incoming receivables, and carry out collection activities in case of delays

Prepare periodic financial reports in the AP/AR area, analyse the aging of receivables and payables, and take part in period-end closings

Process and post bank statements in PLN (and foreign currencies when required), as well as reconcile domestic and international payments in the accounts receivable and payable ledgers.

Post forex transaction (evaluations)

Taxes and reporting

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation by verifying the correctness of documents (e.g. invoices), properly recording them in tax registers, and monitoring changes in tax legislation
  • Participate in the monthly preparation of JPK VAT, including collecting data on free-of-charge goods and services for VAT calculation
  • Monitor the allocation of VAT dates for corrective invoices to ensure accurate JPK VAT reporting
  • Take part in the preparation of AKC declarations
  • Prepare periodic statistical reports according to the reporting schedule and submit them on designated platforms for the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and the National Bank of Poland (NBP)
  • Participate in the preparation of Intrastat declarations
  • Post SAD and AKC-US documents related to vehicle acquisitions

Fixed Assets

  • Post documents related to fixed assets
  • Maintain the fixed assets register in SAP

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in Accounting
  • Excellent SAP knowledge
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Good command of English language
  • Keen on accuracy and data consistency
