Senior Web Developer

As a Senior Web Developer you will be part of a global marketing team responsible for overseeing and optimizing our web presence, ensuring a seamless and engaging online experience for end-users. Your role combines strong technical expertise, project management skillset and leadership potential. You will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our platforms to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. You will work in close partnership with Global Marketing, teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver web solutions that drive our digital success.

YOUR ROLE

• Lead the design, development, testing, and support of critical web projects across Aptiv and global web domains, delivering high-quality solutions that meet business objectives

• Architect and implement innovative web platform improvements with a focus on:

- Building modular, scalable systems with optimized performance and enterprise-grade security

- Establishing robust hosting infrastructure through DevOps best practices, automated CI/CD pipelines, content delivery networks, SSL implementation, and comprehensive backup strategies

• Spearhead database architecture and management to support our customer support network including:

- Design and optimize database schemas, execute seamless migrations, and perform advanced performance tuning

- Ensure high availability and scalability for mission-critical systems including support case tracking, license management, downloads, search functionality, and security vulnerability tracking

• Project Managment

-Independently manage small to medium-scale projects from conception to completion:

-Defining clear project scope and technical requirements and effective stakeholder communication

• Foster productive relationships with external agency partners, ensuring timely and accurate platform updates

• Facilitate clear communication between technical teams and stakeholders regarding system changes, updates, and outstanding action items

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members through structured code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and hands-on technical coaching

• Cultivate a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the development team

• Maintain cutting-edge expertise in web technologies, infrastructure trends, UX best practices, security protocols, and compliance requirements

• Proactively identify and implement emerging technologies that enhance platform capabilities and user experience

YOUR BACKGROUND

• 7+ years in web development with significant, hands-on PHP experience (required)

• Strong front-end skills including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; familiarity with Bootstrap

• Advanced PHP developer with proven ability to build and maintain enterprise-level applications

• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL), including schema design and query development

• Experience with database modeling and development (comfortable with XML/XSLT, DITA integration)

• Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (Angular, React, Ember, Backbone)

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Excellent command of English

• Service-oriented, self-directed, analytical, and customer-focused

• Skilled in Git, CI/CD tooling, and DevOps processes

• Familiarity with web content management systems — strong preference for PHP-based CMS such as Drupal

• Strong knowledge of web best practices including information architecture, responsive design, content modeling, metadata, and tagging

• Ability to balance attention to detail with strategic vision
