KK Group
in our factory in Szczecin we are looking for a
Senior Lead Electrical Engineer
to take ownership of the electrical design of advanced battery systems. These systems provide critical backup power when the grid is no longer available, ensuring reliable operation for wind turbines and other essential applications.
You will play a key role in configuring battery systems within an end-to-end engineering environment, taking responsibility for design, compliance, and performance throughout the product lifecycle. We work with lithium-based technologies while continuously exploring new energy storage solutions.
Our battery systems incorporate various power conversion architectures, and we are looking for an engineer with strong expertise in power conversion topologies, including UPS systems, converters, and boost converters, combined with battery technologies.
In this role, you will lead electrical design activities from concept to release, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and contribute to developing robust, reliable, and compliant products.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop battery systems using suitable technologies with a strong focus on quality and reliability
- Lead the electrical design and dimensioning of battery systems, including filters, power conversion systems, circuit breakers, and control sections
- Perform electrical simulations of relevant phenomena
- Lead and facilitate electrical design reviews, ensuring documentation is reviewed and approved prior to release
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to address mechanical and thermal challenges
- Create component specifications for supplier-sourced components
- Review and interpret customer requirements and ensure design compliance
- Drive and contribute to D-FMEA activities
- Participating in First Article Inspections (FAI) together with Technical Project Leads when required
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the KK ERP system
- Create type test specifications in collaboration with System Engineers and Test Engineers
- Prepare technical documentation, including service manuals and technical dossiers, in line with legislation and customer requirements
- Ensure designs comply with DfX (Design for X) principles Standards & Competencies
- 5+ years of proven engineering experience
- Experience with D-FMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Knowledge of: EN 61439, EN 60204, EN 62619, UL 508A
- Experience with EPLAN and ETAP
- Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership and guidance to others
