Join Our Team as Finance Manager - Poland

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Finance Manager to oversee all financial activities for our operations in Poland. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and compliance with local regulations. The Finance Manager will handle both main bookkeeping and payroll responsibilities, providing crucial financial oversight and reporting directly to the CFO, who is globally responsible for our financial operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarize current financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by staying updated with legislation and advising management.
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Execute General Ledger and Asset Accounting according to local GAAP, including month-end closing and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and guidelines, and conduct internal financial control tasks.
  • Reconcile, monitor, and review general ledger and asset accounts.
  • Prepare intercompany payment runs and reconciliation.
  • Participate in and support projects and special tasks, such as process optimization.
  • Prepare financial and tax statements and fulfill other reporting obligations (e.g., VAT, CIT, TP, GUS, NBP).
  • Prepare reports for the management board, banks, and external institutions.
  • Supervise the correctness of statutory, group, and tax records.
  • Manage internal and external audit work, including SOX testing and Financial Compliance processes.
  • Enter payroll information, calculate salaries, and maintain payroll files.
  • Prepare settlement documents for Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and operate the "Płatnik" program.
  • Train new hires on the payroll process and conduct regular meetings regarding payroll systems and changes in regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on bookkeeping and payroll.
  • In-depth knowledge of Polish accounting standards, tax regulations, and payroll laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both Polish and English.
  • Experience with IFRS/US GAAP and relevant local GAAP expertise, including statutory financial statements preparation and review.
  • Ability to manage and develop a small team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving financial issues.
