Your job as a Test Automation Engineer

Are you passionate about unraveling intricate software puzzles? Do you thrive on creating efficient automated tests that ensure high-quality software delivery? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you

As an Agile Test Automation Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining automated tests. Your mission: to uncover hidden complexities within software applications and craft robust test suites. Join our dynamic eBlox payroll product team. eBlox is the leading payroll solution for medium to large organizations in the Belgian market, and you'll play a vital role in ensuring its continued success.

Being an engineer with testing bias, it's important to stay ahead of the curve by monitoring technological advancements in testing methodologies and tools. In this position you will not just be a tester, but an idea explorer, identifying new technologies that can enhance our product.

Your main tasks and activities will include

  • Design, develop and maintain automated testing and QA processes
  • Writing, executing and monitoring of automated test suites
  • Performing exploratory manual testing to ensure product meets requirements and functions
  • Monitor acceptance and pre-production environments and pro-actively identify issues and suggest improvements

Beyond your main tasks and responsibilities, this role offers exciting growth opportunities. As a valued member of our self-organizing squad, your responsibilities will soon extend beyond the core tasks. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of additional duties aligned with your interests, skills, and aspirations. But fear not - this challenge won't be faced alone. You'll be part of an international, agile squad, comprising 15 talented engineers. Our diverse team includes developers, functional analysts, testers, a scrum master, and a product owner, all working together to drive excellence.

Your profile and skills

We expect proven experience with:

  • At least 5 years of experience in test automation in complex software environments
  • Understanding of tracking and versioning systems such as GIT and SVN
  • Experience with multiple testing frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, Cypress, pywinauto, Ranorex, K9, JMeter, Postman, ...
  • Experience in scripting languages like Python, Groovy, PowerShell, Bash, ...
  • Experience of continuous integration, app build and delivery systems, such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, ...
  • You're supposed to hold a degree in IT or have proven skills worthy to the degree.

And you'll get bonus points if you have knowledge about:

  • Payroll systems or affinity with payroll domain
  • SQL, C# or C++
