About Our Client

Our client is a well-known company with a strong presence in the Polish market. To further strengthen their group, we are actively seeking a talented professional for the position of Deputy CFO. We are looking for someone with a strong business and investment mindset, as well as the drive to support the company in solidifying its already impressive market position and facilitating its continued growth.

This role will be a part of the Senior Management Team and will eventually form part of the Management Board. The Deputy CFO will work closely with the CFO and the CEO, collaborating with other senior executives. The person in the Deputy CFO position will not only serve as a strategic financial partner but also play a key role in succession planning. The selected candidate will be groomed to eventually assume the CFO role, taking the reins and guiding the company towards sustained success. This transition is a critical aspect of our client's strategic vision for the future.

Job Description

  • As Deputy CFO, act as a business partner and provide quality financial leadership and analytical support to senior management
  • Take ownership in key decisions as a member of the Management Team and co-lead the strategy planning within the finance area and beyond
  • Participate in developing various customer-experience strategies
  • Focus on productivity, quality, growth, and margin
  • Monitor, report and challenge the financial performance of the different activities in all product categories
  • Support the further fast-paced growth of the company in terms of market-share and size in Poland
  • Review current reporting and BI processes in the organization, define priorities and prepare a road map for their implementation
  • Co-responsible for design and delivering high quality data & analytical insights and recommendations for the Business
  • Plan, direct and monitor all key processes within the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, risk and management reporting activities
  • Ensure the organization understands and owns strategic plans, budgets, forecasts and is committed to delivering promised results
  • Act as counsel to the business beyond the financial aspects
  • Co-lead, nurture, and develop a large team of finance and non-finance professionals

The Successful Applicant

  • Educated to university degree level, certifications (ACCA, CIMA, etc) will be an asset
  • A qualified professional with an experience in business finance on a similar role, with a clear trajectory towards assuming the CFO position; preferably in consumer goods retail / e-commerce company
  • Experience in driving change management, risk management, M&A is highly desirable
  • Relevant experience in a companies with a high-growth track-record, preferably companies with a focus on data warehouse, BI, master data management
  • Information management skills including business analysis, data modelling, designing insightful recommendations, strong working knowledge of data warehousing
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, proficient in data analysis from a commercial and strategic delivery perspective
  • Strong commercial awareness, entrepreneurial skills
  • Deep understanding of all P&L and Balance sheet components
  • Pro-active hands-on, solution driven mentality, with attention to detail
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to provide clear leadership and motivate people, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in Polish and very good command in English is a must
