Offer Description

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions stated in Art. 113 and 116 of the Act of 20th July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws: 2023, item 742, as amended) as well as those stated in the Szczecin University Statute and fulfill the criteria indicated in the competition.

The competition is the first stage of the procedure of employing academic staff, and its positive outcome is the basis for further proceedings.

The candidate should fulfill the following criteria:

  • have a doctoral degree in the field of social sciences, achieved not earlier than 5 years ago;
  • have documented didactic experience in sociology, including conducting courses in English;
  • have academic achievements in scope of qualitative research and discourse analysis;
  • be fluent in English, i.e. be able to conduct classes and write publications independently; be skilled in another foreign language (minimum B2 level);
  • experience in participating in international grant projects and research interests connected with maritime sociology will be an additional asset.

Candidates should submit the following documents:

1. a letter of application addressed to the Rector of Szczecin University - in Polish;

2. CV;

4. a document (or certified copy thereof) confirming the award of academic degree (doctoral degree), if documents are not in Polish, a certified translation is required as well as a certificate of equivalence to the Polish academic degree;

5. information on academic achievements and previous teaching experience;

6. a list of publications,

7. a statement that Szczecin University will be the candidate's main place of employment (form availableat website);

8. a statement of compliance with requirements as specified in Art. 113 of the Act of 20th July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws: 2023, item 742, as amended) - formavailableat website;

9. a candidate's consent for the processing of personal data by Szczecin University in the recruitment process (form availableat website).

Candidates may also add any other documents or information that they deem important.

Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
