We're looking for a talented individual to become part of our Data Science & Artificial Intelligence group, where we focus on leveraging data to enhance our understanding of diseases, improve R&D processes, and accelerate the delivery of new medicines. The R&D Data Office is crucial in executing AstraZeneca's vision. The office ensures efficient data utilization for groundbreaking science, promoting data governance and quality to facilitate research while upholding legal and ethical standards.

As an essential part of the Data Office, you'll work in the Reference and Master Data team. Here, you'll lead the process of managing high-quality Reference and Master data to support R&D activities within compliance guidelines.

Associate Director, MDM Stewardship and Enablement oversees day-to-day Master Data Stewardship operations and drives various MDM projects to enhance data management processes.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to master data stewards, ensuring data governance and quality across R&D
  • Owning the deployment of new data management initiatives
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to align data requirements with business objectives
  • Continuous improvement of MDM processes and data quality standards
  • Resolving data-related challenges and issues
  • Monitoring data risks and defining mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
  • Developing data quality metrics and requirements
  • Educating employees on data best practices

Essential Requirements

  • Scientific background and knowledge of ISO IDMP standards
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
  • Strong expertise in product data management
  • Deep understanding of E2E product development processes
  • Proficient in data management principles and MDM technologies
  • Proven ability to lead MDM initiatives in a regulated environment

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in technology implementation and project management
  • Cross-departmental knowledge and data warehousing expertise
  • Understanding of data modeling and relational databases
  • Familiarity with industry standards and data governance
