Business Unit Parts and Field Service in Marine Poweris looking to welcome an enthusiasticSenior Service Engineerto join our team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in Gdansk, Poland.

As a Senior Service Engineer, your responsibilities include:

  • Performingmechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on Wärtsiläproducts or similar medium bore diesel engines.
  • Engine component overhauls in workshop and on site, including some in situ machining.
  • Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of engine products, along with component investigation.
  • Checking and adjusting relevant systems (i.e. auxiliary equipment).
  • Pre-commissioning and mechanical commissioning of engines
  • Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time and in accordance with Wärtsiläquality
  • Identifying failures, makingadjustments, assisting on trial runs, and testing of mechanical installations according to instructions.
  • Providing internal and external work reports in accordance with Wärtsilä standards.
  • Collecting and organizing time and expense reports, informing administrative personnel as required.
  • Reporting executed work in accordance with Wärtsilä standards.

To be successful in this role, we expect you have:

  • B. Sc. + 2 year of related experience, alternatively AS degree and 3 years of experience, or High School Diploma /Technical / Vocational school (preferably Marine, Mechanical or USCG).
  • More thanfiveyears of experienceas a Mechanical Engineer on Wärtsilädiesel engines or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of auxiliaryequipment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills are considered an advantage.
  • Good command of English and Polish, both written and verbal.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Motivation to learn and grow professionally.
  • Willingness to travelat least 7-8 months per year.
  • Experience of generating technical reports.
