Senior Accountant - Nordics, Warsaw, Poland

We are dedicated to deliver an exceptional service and uncompromised quality. As a Senior Accountant you will be part of a Nordic finance team covering Denmark, Sweden, and Norway market. Your main areas of responsibility will be GL accounting, direct and indirect tax/regulatory compliance, payroll supervision/back-up and finance processes and systems. We are an international company so your fluent English is a must. Knowledge of one of the Scandinavian languages will be an advantage but it's not desired.

Senior Accountant work tasks:

GL Accounting


• Assist the Finance Manager in coordinating and monitoring GL Accounting tasks across the Nordics.


• Experience with Financial Statement preparation.


• Directly manage more complex, technical accounting tasks (e.g. complex reconciliations and accruals).


• Prepare certain analyses necessary for internal use, audits, taxes, regulatory filings etc


• Act as back-up for all countries where needed due to leave or turnover.


• Help coordinate local and group financial audits and statutory reporting.

Direct and indirect tax/regulatory compliance


• Assist the Finance Manager in coordinating direct and indirect tax/regulatory compliance across the Nordics.


• Directly manage and/or back-up such tasks, notably VAT and CIT.


• Assist with ad-hoc tax/regulatory matters (e.g. statistics).


• Assist with tax audits or claims.

Payroll supervision/back-up


• Assist the Finance Manager in coordinating payroll activities in cooperation with the HR department and payroll providers.


• Directly manage more complex technical payroll tasks (e.g. commissions calculations)


• Directly manage and/or back-up payroll tasks as appropriate


• Help coordinate certain administrative aspects of payroll in cooperation with HR (e.g. vacation management).

Finance Processes and Systems


• Assist the Finance Manager and group resources in maintaining, improving and implementing finance processes and systems in the Nordics.


• Become a key user for certain finance systems and be a reference for users including training.


• Assist in identifying and generalising best practices.


• Assist with M&A and change management initiatives.


• Assist with training/onboarding new employees.


• Excellent English both written and spoken.


• Knowledge of Scandinavian regulations and/or languages is a plus.


• Strong communication and teamwork skills - Able to communicate with people from other cultures; notices and relates to problems as seen from other cultures' perspective.


• Strong GL Accounting and tax knowledge.


• International outlook and able to adapt to the Nordic context.


• Ability to take on responsibility, analytical mindset, detail-oriented.
