2024 Product Software Architecture & Engineering Summer Intern in DCIMTeam and Role:
We are looking for Intern Java Developer for the engineering team that is responsible for development of DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Monitoring), a large globally distributed telemetry system that gathers IoT data, does Real-Time Stream Processing, Analytics, Alerting, Monitoring and makes the data available for further business use.
DCIM is a key Equinix product, a highly scalable, globally distributed software, using modern technology stack, cloud, microservices architecture, real-tile and near-real-time stream processing, API-first approach and focusing on the product quality and processing SLA. Vast amount of data flowing through DCIM, originating from 220+ data centers (and growing) spread worldwide, makes it very unique, interesting and challenging. This can make you a part of the world-class product engineering team that's paving the path for new ways for enterprises to consume ever increasing cloud services.
Assignements and Responsibilities:
As an Intern Java Developer, you will be part of our dynamic development team responsible for providing IOT inventory system, working on various projects and gaining hands-on experience in Java programming. You will collaborate with experienced developers and contribute to the design, development, and testing of software applications. This internship will provide you with valuable exposure to real-world software development practices and enhance your technical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implementation of software solutions using Java programming language
- Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and contribute to the development process
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices
- Conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying and implementing appropriate solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Java development

Who You Are (Requirements and Qualifications):
- Must be currently enrolled inan accrediteduniversity/college, in your penultimate year of yourbachelor'sor master's degreestudies in the field of computer science ( Graduationbetween December September
- Available to work full-time for the entire duration of the Summer Internship Program( between July to September , depending on your school system ).
- Ability to multi-task and workcollaboratively andeffectively in afast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business proficiency in English.
- Ability to create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, and share information and ideas with others.
- Analytically driven and detail-oriented, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package and aptitude to learn new tools.
- Good programming skills in Java
- Good understanding of Spring framework
- Good understanding of Kafka, Kubernetes or REST would be a plus
- High interest in investigating, analyzing , and evaluating new technologies
