As a UI designer at UK's second biggest employer, you will play a key role in shaping experiences for a diverse colleague and supplier base to enhance their work performance. Your focus will be on creating intuitive solutions that elevate the overall colleague and supplier experience.

Tesco offers a wide variety of roles with specialisms across 270 different role types, spanning 84 departments and 10 business divisions.

Responsibilities:

  • DesignUI for large and small multi-platform projects, transforming complex experiences into simple, user-friendly solutions.
  • Contribute to end-to-end UI process activities including interaction design discovery, sketching, wire-framing, prototyping, and delivering design files ready for implementation.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, researchers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to explore, develop, and implement designs.
  • Participate in in-store research, engaging with colleagues and observing their tasks to better understand project requirements.
  • Promote human-centered design principles within and outside your team.
  • Work with agile squads to enhance colleague experience in digital products.
  • Partner with UX designers and researchers to validate designs through testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility.
  • Contribute to evolving the Digital Design System based on user needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions and advocate for inclusive and accessible designs.
  • Provide feedback to enhance team capabilities and processes.
  • Support a positive team culture under the guidance of the Design Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional UI design skills, including interaction design expertise.
  • A well-crafted portfolio showcasing proficiency in web, responsive, and native app design.
  • Experience in high-profile design projects in a customer-facing environment.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other design tools.
  • Strong understanding of design processes and accessibility standards.
  • Passion for problem-solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Empathy towards colleagues and their needs.
  • Experience in retail sector is advantageous.
