Principal Software Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Shape the architecture, standards, and design of key product initiatives for Java services
  • Contribute as a senior individual contributor within a team of top engineers
  • Work in a dynamic Agile scrum team environment

Background and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years in software development
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledgeable in commercial software development and multi-tier solutions
  • Cloud native app development experience, exposure to Kafka, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Angular, JavaScript, and Java
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to comprehend financial sector requirements

Additional Criteria:

  • Contribute significantly to developing and supporting commercial software products
  • Understanding of XML/XSL
  • Proficiency in Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, or WebSphere
  • Hands-on experience in software development and keeping updated on emerging technologies
  • Strong algorithmic knowledge to solve complex problems
  • Preferably, experience in financial markets application development

Education and Experience:

BS degree in relevant fields or MIS in business studies. MS degree is preferred.

  • Core Java development experience
  • Strong programming skills for efficient automation infrastructure development
  • Experience in SQL, PowerShell, and batch scripts
  • Knowledge of JavaScript technologies
  • Familiarity with Linux, Oracle, and SQL Server databases
  • Capable of handling ongoing project tasks while supporting developer queries
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and providing guidance
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GIT
  • Experience in cloud app projects, especially Azure
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
