As an Embedded Software Engineer at Solaris Laser, you will design, implement, validate, and maintain embedded software for current and future laser printers, spanning various application spaces using best practices prevalent in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and validate high-quality embedded software as part of a team of engineers
  • Develop quality software using Object Oriented Design Methodology
  • Adhere to software discipline standards, guidelines, and best practices
  • Participate in and lead design reviews, contributing to enhancements in design and code quality created by internal and external engineers
  • Collaborate with members of other engineering disciplines utilizing excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Demonstrable track record of developing high-quality embedded software for end-user products from requirements analysis to delivery
  • Preferable experience in cross-functional, multi-cultural, and/or distributed team collaboration
  • Experience in embedded software development in an industrial printing domain is advantageous
  • Proficiency in C++ (C++17 and above) utilizing STL and Boost
  • Ability in GUI programming, particularly on X-Window platform using GTK toolkit
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux Os at programming and administrative level
  • Experience in network programming for standard TCP/IP stack and Industrial Ethernet protocols
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, distributed systems programming, multi-threaded programming, and on-target debugging
  • Thorough understanding and experience in verification skills such as test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, and defect characterization
  • Knowledge of configuration management skills, including revision control, release management, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with real-time operating system concepts and experience in their application
  • Experience with tools like GCC/GDB, GIT, CMake, Visual Studio, Python, and XML is advantageous
  • Capability to analyze complex engineering problems at the root cause
  • Aptitude to work independently and as part of an international, cross-disciplinary product development team
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including proficient English speaking skills
