Hempel,a leading international company in the coatings and paints industry, is looking for an experienced and results-oriented individual to join us as aFinance Global Process Owner (GPO).This is a newly created role within Group Finance department and the processes in focus are Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash.

In this role you will be responsible for defining and driving initiatives to set and implement standard, efficient and automated processes. As a finance owner and custodian of Purchase to Pay (PtP) and Order to Cash (OtC) processes, you will have the opportunity to develop vision, strategy, and objectives for these processes within finance, and drive related transformation initiatives.

As a subject matter authority on the processes in your scope, you will act as a sparring partner across the organization from operational level to strategic levels within the senior management teams.

Together with Finance GPO for the Record to Report process, you will represent Finance in the Hempel Business Process Council and collaborate with other Hempel business process owners to ensure that all initiatives are seamlessly integrated within the End-to-End (E2E) processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive process transformation, automation and standardization within finance and across End-to-End processes where relevant, in line with Hempel's process excellence governance framework
• Own and maintain process documentation, policies and procedures within your process area. Drive policy changes where required
• In collaboration and close alignment with Heads of PtP and Global Credit Control, drive the process transformation of PtP and OtC processes, ensuring operational efficiency and benefits realization
• Act on behalf of finance organization within Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash processes, providing input, guidance and approvals with regards to finance systems and applications
• Define compliance requirements to the ERP template and other finance tools and applications (in case of changes to systems, processes or regulatory requirements)
• Represent finance in relevant global initiatives, including projects, system implementation, etc. Provide input to prioritization and take decisions on relevant process areas
• Ensure that no material control gaps exist within relevant processes and their performance in finance systems / applications. Evaluate and recommend changes to controls due to changes in the process or application landscape
• Coordinate with Finance Process Excellence and operational teams to bring in business knowledge, alignment and ensure effective implementation, including organisational change and training

Qualifications and competencies

It is essential that you have a deep understanding of both Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash processes, and can consider yourself a subject matter authority in minimum one of them. This would typically mean solid experience in operating these processes, understanding how they work on detailed level and how to make them efficient. Ideally, you also have a consistent track record of identifying and driving such improvements – covering process standardization, optimization and automation, and knowledge of how good looks like – both in terms of process standard, current market trends and digital enablers.

It is essential that you are an excellent communicator with a can-do attitude, and are experienced in leading change. With collaborator interfaces at all levels of the organization, you should possess a high degree of professionalism, work ethics, natural confidence and authority.

Furthermore, we are looking for:

• Master Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
• Qualified in Finance & Accounting, including in-depth knowledge of best practices and practical understanding of finance operations
• Sophisticated knowledge of relevant E2E process (SME expertise), also beyond finance area
• Experienced in Microsoft D365 or SAP, including good understanding of ERP setup, template, data, change process requirements
• Ability to link finance processes with finance operations, systems and data
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving demeanor
• Ability to conceptualize, structure and lead cross-functional assignments
