CTO Special Projects & Strategic Planning Manager

The Special Projects Manager guides the Technology Office's day-to-day rhythm and contributes to the success of the Technology Office's dealings.They are also responsible for partnering with Technology Office leadership to develop and execute a portfolio of strategic projects.The Special Projects Manager functions, for the most part, autonomously. They don't execute a set of tasks day after day. Each day, they determine what they need to do and then they do it.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Acts as an operational linchpin and strategic facilitator within the Technology Office, a role that is fundamental to its efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead diverse and global strategic activities in support of core objectives, including execution of Technology Office led programs and activities.
  • Run internal Technology Office projects governance processes, monitor execution against the plan, and provide operational support.
  • Provide timely counsel and key updates on critical initiatives requiring Chief Technology Officer and Technology Office Leadership Team attention.
  • Frequently holds the mantle of communications, creating materials and engaging with team members and stakeholders through presentations, reports and newsletters.
  • Plan the agenda, coordinate, and run key Technology Office meetings including Leadership Team weekly & monthly, community calls, and off-sites to ensure they are deliberate, relevant, focused, and efficient.
  • Advises and supports Chief Technology Officer in their daily duties.
  • Works behind the scenes to mediate disputes, find solutions to problems and dealing with issues before they are brought to the Chief Technology Officer.
  • Manages the financials of the function, monitors actuals along with expected spend, and works closely with finance to ensure alignment.
  • Maintains audit items and second opinion mapping to manage delivery and successful closure of items within given timeframe and communicates progress to CTO and GT audit function accordingly.

You will report to the Chief Technology Officer located in USA. The role requires working in non-standard working hours between 10am-6pm.

Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and efficiently juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities.Think quickly and have the flexibility to (re-)prioritize multiple work streams/ projects/ tasks without sacrificing quality. Act with a sense of urgency.
  • Coordinate People & Processes: Proficient in project management, with experience working with agile methodologies.Lead a team through the course of a project, managing timelines, resolving problems, and facilitating communication and collaboration to ensure a successful outcome. Manage project risks, reporting and escalating to management as needed.
  • Maximize Value: Plan and manage finances to align with goals and objectives.Feed into budget planning process, track and project expenses, contribute to financial analysis, and ensure budget is not exceeded.
  • Continuous Improvement Focused: Willing to ask questions and explore innovative ideas. Eager to learn and focused on continuously improving technical and soft skills.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide creative thought leadership while also listening and engaging others. Ability to persuade and implement change.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 USD.
