The Indirect Procurement Senior Buyer is responsible for overseeing the daily procurement of indirect goods and services, focusing on supplier identification, negotiation, and selection. This position plays a key role in managing the procure-to-pay process for goods and services valued between $10,000 and $50,000, ensuring outstanding customer service across various business units and regions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Supervise the spot purchase process, including analyzing mid-value purchases, collaborating with category managers for high-value acquisitions, researching suppliers, carrying out RFIs (Request for Information) and RFQs (Request for Quote) for negotiation and selection, and finalizing purchase order (PO) terms and conditions.
  • Manage purchase orders by making adjustments, closures, or modifications as required, handling changes in requisitions, supplier or user requests, and escalating unresolved issues.
  • Proactively follow up on purchase orders to confirm with suppliers, address any delays, ensure timely delivery, manage open orders for prompt processing and invoicing.
  • Work closely with suppliers and stakeholders to secure goods and services at competitive prices without compromising quality, collaborate with internal departments like Receiving and Accounts Payable to resolve related issues.
  • Analyze spending patterns to pinpoint areas for cost and process improvement, achieve annual savings goals, negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers, and undertake additional responsibilities and projects as stakeholder needs progress.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in finance or procurement.
  • Proficient in procurement practices.
  • Familiarity with SAP (Ariba).
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Extra proficiency in European languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, etc.) would be advantageous.
