What to Expect as a Brake Calculation Engineer

  • Provide expertise in brake calculations for trucks and trailers equipped with ZF braking systems. The calculation reports are used for brake approval certificates and application engineering
  • Create and maintain brake calculation programs for standard truck + trailer configurations as well as for special vehicles, e.g. multi-axle configurations
  • Maintain and extend brake system components databases up to date
  • Handle and plan expert-level brake calculation requests from different worldwide customers
  • Train and develop a team of brake calculation experts in ZF's local sales teams
  • Proactively support and train brake calculation program users. Create and maintain documentation and standardized report sheets
  • Support the adaptation of new legislation rules, support the adaptation of new components (foundation brakes, actuators)
  • Maintain and collaborate with external IT partner to keep the calculation tool up to date and user-friendly

Your Profile as Brake Calculation Engineer

  • Education and Professional Experience Required
  • Technical education (Engineer)
  • Fluent in English, communicative level of Polish. German will be an advantage
  • Excellent understanding of a vehicle's brake system and the vehicle dynamics
  • Experience with the management of external IT projects is an advantage
  • Skills and Knowledge
  • Very good technical knowledge about ZF products, especially regarding the details of braking system operations, brake components interaction, and software functionality, or the readiness to learn it at an expert level
  • Good understanding of legal regulations concerning truck/trailer systems, or the readiness to learn it at an expert level
  • Excellent mathematical and calculation knowledge
