POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of ETF Technology serves as the primary technology leader of the group. They act as the central point of contact for ETF-related technology activities across BBH Systems, responsible for all technical aspects of ETF applications, including managing development activities and daily operations. This role involves close collaboration with business/product experts, architects, vendors, and developers to conceptualize, develop, and deliver projects and solutions. The Head of ETF Technology plays a key role in project and resource planning, implementation, and production support.

The Head of ETF Technology is tasked with developing the overall technology strategy and roadmap for the group, ensuring its successful execution. They work closely with executive leadership to shape and influence the technology strategy for ETF. Leading this organization, the Head of ETF Technology oversees and ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of all Software Development aspects.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leadership/Management

  • Participate and represent the ETF organization effectively in change meetings and oversight committees.
  • Build a high-performing global technology team through recruitment, development, and retention of technology leaders, including effective succession planning.
  • Lead and manage direct reports and the team by setting challenging performance standards, providing continuous feedback, and conducting annual performance appraisals.
  • Contribute to the career growth of staff, serving as a positive role model and mentor.
  • Collaborate with the business to ensure that systems align with business requirements and advocate for business needs within systems.

2. Design and Implementation

  • Manage the development of technical roadmaps for all applications within the ETF group.
  • Promote and drive innovation, overseeing the prioritization of new business ideas.
  • Utilize QA and established change management best practices early in new project development.
  • Work with various stakeholders to define solutions, products, and modules, ensuring they meet required features and functionality, and successfully deliver them in line with industry best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of hands-on engineering experience, preferably in designing and delivering highly scalable applications and supporting vendor platforms to meet business needs.
  • Experience with Agile transformation and understanding of Agile frameworks and practices.
  • Strong technical knowledge across various application architectures, development tools, database technologies, security measures, and infrastructures.
  • Broad technical background covering distributed systems, data production and visualization, data engineering, and architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to make prompt decisions based on business demands.

Salary Range

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The salary range mentioned is specific to Jersey City and may vary in other locations due to cost of living. Salaries depend on skills, experience, and qualification.
