Job Description

In this position, you will be leading a team and providing field engineering guidance for work planning, material management, safety, quality control, technical inspection, testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your supervision will ensure that field engineering activities are conducted safely, thoroughly, and in compliance with quality standards and project requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

Level I

  • Overseeing a large vertical package or work scope on substantial projects (> $1B and/or > 1500 craft) with high complexity and multiple stakeholders' participation.
  • Supervising all Superintendents, direct hire craft, and enforcing project work regulations.
  • Managing Subcontract Coordinators and coordinating subcontract activities.
  • Establishing and ensuring adherence to project procedures for construction according to technical specifications.
  • Implementing project control tools to ensure that direct hire work stays within budget and schedule.
  • Setting and achieving cost and schedule targets.
  • Forecasting labor unit rates, field distributables, and construction equipment.
  • Ensuring the jobsite team consists of qualified personnel and optimizing their utilization.
  • Implementing the Project ES&H program.
  • Assisting in coordinating engineering solutions with subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.
  • Collaborating with Design on constructability matters.

Level II

  • Managing a very large vertical package or work scope on significant projects (> $2B and/or > 3,000 craft) with high complexity and multiple stakeholders' involvement.
  • Coordinating engineering solutions with subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Level I

  • Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience.

Level II

  • Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 18+ years of relevant experience or 22+ years of relevant work experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-oriented setting.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of current design codes and standards such as IBC, SMACNA, ASME, NFPA, NEC, ACI, ASCE, or their European counterparts.
  • High proficiency in work process development and implementation.
  • Expertise in planning breakdown structure and construction work packages development.
  • Proficiency in cost and schedule analysis.
  • Skilled in subcontract administration and knowledgeable in all phases of construction operations, engineering disciplines, and jobsite management.
  • Direct hire execution experience on projects exceeding US$300M.
  • Prior experience as a Project Field Engineer Manager or Construction Field Engineer Manager in the EU.
  • Previous exposure to Earned Value Management and comprehensive knowledge of project scoping, planning, and execution for multi-discipline works.
