About this opportunityWelcome to the Data & Analytics team within Group Internal Audit. We drive GIA's data analytics strategy and support auditors with challenging data analysis tasks. Group Internal Audit (GIA) is an independent function that safeguards the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the largest bank in the Nordics – Nordea.As the Data Analyst in the Data & Analytics team in GIA, you'll have the chance to conduct data analytics on data from across the Bank. Your analyses will directly impact the management of key risks at Nordea. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in shaping GIA's data analytics strategy.What you'll be doing:
  • Contributing to various projects with data analytics: participating in audits as a data expert, extracting and cleansing data, exploring data, and conducting complex data analyses
  • Applying advanced analytical techniques (including machine learning) relevant for auditing, such as outlier detection and analysis, natural language processing, network analysis, etc.
  • Developing and enhancing data knowledge and expertise on crucial data assets at Nordea
  • Driving key actions and contributing to the implementation of GIA's data analytics strategy
  • Enhancing data analytics capabilities and promoting a change in mindset in the organization through advocating for data analytics, sharing knowledge, and conducting training sessions, among other activities
  • Promoting innovation and challenging the status quo
You'll be part of the D&A team based in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Warsaw, and Gdańsk. Group Internal Audit emphasizes the use of technology for efficient, flexible work. While collaborating with colleagues in the Nordics, travel remains at sustainable levels.

Your experience and background:
  • Hold a Master's degree in a quantitative discipline like mathematics, computer science, statistics, or a related field
  • Have at least 2 years of practical experience in applying data analytics to solve real-world issues
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality
  • Experience in risk management, audit, or controls within the financial sector is advantageous
  • Fluency in English
  • Hands-on experience in implementing machine learning techniques is a bonus
