About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Software & Data Engineering to lead multiple engineering domains for one of our major global partners. This is a strategic, high-impact position overseeing both software development and data platform engineering within a mission-critical, large-scale environment.

You will guide engineering teams delivering core software systems, automation solutions, and modern data platforms. The role combines leadership, architecture oversight, and strategic thinking, and requires someone who can operate confidently at both technical and executive levels.

We are looking for someone capable of stepping in with ownership, maturity, and vision.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Engineering Leadership & Strategy

• Oversee the development of business-critical applications and automation systems.

• Lead and mentor Software Engineering and Data Engineering teams, ensuring excellence in delivery and execution.

• Define and drive the technical strategy across both disciplines in alignment with business and platform goals.

• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders on technology roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and long-term architecture.

• Promote a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  
  

  2. Software Engineering Oversight

• Oversee the development of business-critical applications and automation systems.

• Guide architectural decisions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability.Ensure best practices in CI/CD, testing, documentation, and secure software development.

• Support teams working with microservices, backend systems, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.

3. Data Engineering & Platform Leadership

• Lead teams building and optimizing scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics platforms.

• Drive the development of modern data architectures using cloud technologies and distributed processing frameworks.

• Ensure strong data governance, quality, availability, and security.

• Enable cross-functional teams through robust, well-structured data systems.

4.People & Stakeholder Management

• Provide mentorship, career development, and leadership support to engineering leads and ICs.

• Work closely with product, architecture, operations, and delivery teams to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.

• Communicate progress, risks, and strategic insights to senior internal stakeholders.

  
  

What We Are Looking For

Must-Have

• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role (Head of Engineering, Director, Engineering Manager).

• Ability to oversee both software engineering and data engineering functions.

• Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP) and distributed architectures.

• Experience with platform modernization and scaling engineering organizations.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior-level stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in large-scale infrastructure, enterprise environments, or global technology platforms.

• Familiarity with technologies such as:-Knowledge of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering principles.- Software: Python, Go, Java, microservices, API frameworks, automation tooling.- Data: Databricks, Spark, Kafka, ETL/ELT, data lakes, cloud data warehousing.
