About the role:
This is a professional level position in the Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Organization of VISA. The PRE is responsible for providing support to critical highly available applications under Value Added Services.
Main responsibilities:
Be responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, detecting problems, performing root cause analysis, identifying, and implementing permanent solutions.
Interaction with Systems, Database personnel, Engineering, Product Development, Clients, Risk, and various groups within Technology.
Participation in capacity planning and design reviews to identify design gaps in supportability and resiliency.
Bring creative curiosity and technology experience to work every day and help build dashboards, audits, alerts, and solutions.
Key requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field, and at least 2 years of work experience.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in Production support working in a distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
Skills and experience with Containers, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Skills and experience with Hadoop and Kafka.
Skills and experience with Linux and UNIX.
Experience with Hazelcast.
Experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases.
Ability to understand and write complex Database queries.
Skills and experience with Java, J2EE and scripting technologies.
Ability to analyze thread dumps, heap dumps, garbage collection and other related JVM components.
Working knowledge of production support processes such as incident/change/problem management, call triaging, escalation procedures using tools such as Service Now.
Strong execution and analytical abilities. Ability to solve complex production problems.
Dynamic, hard-working, and ambitious individual with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Prior working experience with payment and transaction domains is advantageous.
