Your Role

As a Senior Data Science & Business Analyst at our popular digital media company, you will play a key role in shaping the future of how we deliver business news and insights. Our platform provides free, witty, and concise daily newsletters that engage thousands of readers. Your mission is to analyze data from our newsletters, audience interactions, and platform performance to uncover insights that will help us scale the business, improve engagement, and increase its monetary value.

You will work closely with leadership, product, marketing, and editorial teams to understand business goals, define analytical frameworks, and provide actionable recommendations that drive growth and revenue.

What You’ll Do

• Experience building dashboards using Clickhouse, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Experience with Python, R, or other data analysis languages.

• Analyze data from newsletters, platform interactions, and marketing campaigns to identify trends, patterns, and growth opportunities.

• Develop metrics and dashboards to track audience engagement, retention, and monetization performance.

• Translate business challenges into measurable hypotheses and design experiments to test them.

• Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and product teams to optimize newsletter content, delivery, and audience targeting.

• Recommend strategies to increase readership, improve conversion, and maximize revenue from advertising and partnerships.

• Build forecasting, segmentation, and performance models to support decision making and business planning.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all reporting and analysis.

• Document analytical methods and maintain best practices to allow for scalable and reproducible insights.

• Present actionable insights and recommendations to leadership and non technical stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data science roles.

• Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business recommendations.

• Advanced understanding of audience engagement, marketing metrics, and business KPIs.

• Strong SQL skills and experience with analytical databases.

• Experience with statistical analysis, experimentation, or predictive modeling.

• Ability to work cross functionally with editorial, marketing, product, and leadership teams.

• High level of English proficiency.

• Detail oriented mindset with strong focus on accuracy and actionable insights.

Nice to Have

• Experience using BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses for large-scale data analysis and reporting.

• Experience analyzing content or media performance and monetization strategies.

• Familiarity with LLMs and AI tools for data analysis, automation, or insight generation.

• Experience working in fast growing startups or SaaS environments.
