Your team We are seeking an exceptional Staff Engineer to join our APAC technology team, driving technical excellence across our investment platform operations spanning Singapore, Australia, Japan, and Dubai markets. This role will be instrumental in scaling our IG One investment app, expanding crypto and leverage trading capabilities, and establishing technical standards across our multi-region engineering teams. What we offer Opportunity to shape technical direction for a leading investment platform in APAC Work with cutting-edge trading technology and expand into emerging markets Collaborate with talented engineering teams across four countries Contribute to products serving thousands of active trading clients What you’ll do Technical Leadership: Lead architectural decisions for trading systems, multi-region AWS deployments, and regulatory compliance implementations including Travel Rule and Chainalysis integration Platform Development: Oversee trading platform development and integrations (IBKR, exchange protocols), customer engagement systems (Braze-Intercom), and external APIs with Akamai/ECS orchestration Engineering Excellence: Establish coding standards across global teams (UK, Singapore, India, Poland), mentor senior engineers, and drive adoption of modern development practices Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, compliance, and infrastructure teams to support crypto trading expansion and business objectives through reliable technology delivery What you’ll need for this role Experience: 8+ years software engineering with 3+ years in senior/staff roles; strong fintech/trading systems background Technical Skills: Distributed systems, microservices, AWS cloud platforms, FIX protocol, container orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes) Leadership: Technical leadership experience, mentoring engineers, cross-functional collaboration across distributed teams Domain Knowledge: Financial regulations (APAC markets), DevSecOps practices Preferred Qualifications: QuickFix library and financial messaging protocols Multi-currency trading systems and exchange connectivity Compliance technology platforms (Notabene) Mobile trading platforms and investment app UX Knowledge of crypto trading systems and digital asset infrastructure preferred How we work We try to take a thoughtful approach to our ways of working as a company.
