Amongst other things, we are building client facing applications for users to manage their activities with HSBC and orchestration capabilities to reduce the time it takes for clients and staff to complete these activities.In this role, you will be driving engineering excellence across a global team to transform both the culture and the technology across our KYC applications. This role expects you to be hands-on engineering, leading our software delivery teams by example to build a first-in-class solution that’s iteratively delivered into the hands of our users. It also expects you to be influencing the wider group of engineers, architects and the business to ensure we are building the right products in the right ways.What you’ll doWork closely with the CIB Client Services Engineering Leadership team, leading the engineering transformation across our Customer Due Diligence application.Design and build solutions using microservice architecture, working closely with the product team to understand requirements and impact of changes being made.Lead by example, delivering solutions at high cadence for the build out of both new functionality and the replacement of legacy systems whilst also supporting other teams to achieve the same.Work to release change to production every day, owning requirements through discussions with the business through to development, testing, release to and support of production.Lead engineering excellence and the development of a strong engineering culture across our teams – influencing behaviours and removing barriers within the teams.Manage the team of developers and overlooking their work across different initiatives.Be responsible for building highly productive teams of technically talented engineers and take ownership of technical delivery for their team.Leadership/mentorship over the team.What you need to have to succeed in this roleExtensive experience in building applications using non-breaking principles, particularly in developing RESTful APIs and developing microservices using highly iterative methods to deliver change to production regularly.Familiarity with Java, preferably more recent versions (17 and greater).Knowledge of building and managing database schemas using PostgreSQL.Both experience in and a passion to influence global teams of engineers in transforming the engineering mindset and culture amongst the group.A keenness to learn new skills and technologies as the role requires.Experience in dissecting business requirements and supporting teams to deliver them iteratively to production at high cadence without large planning cycles.Experience in managing development teams.Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.Nice to haveExperience with building and supporting tooling for CI/CD on Kubernetes.Experience in delivering microservices without using frameworks like Spring Boot.What we offerCompetitive salaryAnnual performance-based bonusAdditional bonuses for recognition awardsMultisport cardPrivate medical careLife insuranceOne-time reimbursement of home office set-up (up to 800 PLN).Corporate parties & eventsCSR initiativesNursery discountsFinancial support with trainings and educationSocial fundFlexible working hoursFree parkingIf your CV meets our criteria, you should expect the following steps in the recruitment process:Online behavioural testTelephone screenZoom interview with the hiring managerWe are looking to hire as soon as possible so don’t wait and apply nowYou'll achieve more when you join HSBC.
