Duration: 4 - 6 months

Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess strong individual and good team player skills and have an ability to follow through tasks and projects from inception to completion. Ability to work within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams as a part of International Organization is a plus. Fluent spoken/written English is a must.

It is not required to have on-call availability out of working hours. However there are sporadic and planned interventions in out of working hours (estimated at 2-3 hours max per month).

Senior Database Administrator


Your responsibilities

  • Database Administration and operations.
  • Administer the SQL infrastructure, being responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server corporate databases.
  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from staging to production. Design and implement solutions to automate recurrent deployment tasks or procedures.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
  • Assist different stakeholders with query tuning and schema refinement to increase performance.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends in database technologies.
  • Keep up to date SQL teams documentation as its processes evolve over time.
  • Contribute and follow up on current Proof of Concept Azure SQL project.
  • Gather statistics and prepare regular Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on database usage and performance. Document activity to ensure that a proper activity log is maintained up to date.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date database infrastructure, design, and Best Practices documentation.
  • Coordinate with development teams to improve continuous integration processes.
  • Supervise the work of external service providers intervening as required.

Our requirements

  • Proven professional experience designing, implementing and managing a large Microsoft SQL infrastructure (all versions).
  • Database migration experience and skills.
  • Experience with analysing performance issues and diagnosing database problems.
  • Knowledge of database reporting and monitoring tools (e.g. MS SCOM, Redgate, SquaredUp, PowerBI, MS SSRS etc).
  • Familiarity with Source Control Tools (e.g TFS, GitHub).
  • Knowledge of database backup tooling and cloud database management is also desirable.
