Magic Media is currently seeking a technical game designer that can perform at a wide variety of game genres, platforms and target audiences and who is able to carry a project’s game design by handling most of the different game design fields.

The person should be capable of working on multiple projects and cooperating with Producers, Customers, and other Stakeholders -internal and external- in a fast-paced international environment.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Designer and other cross-functional teams to shape and implement the technical vision for our projects.
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and programmers to establish and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Ensure that the team is meeting project goals and deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Ability to create thrilling games that fit our client’s vision and provide solutions that match industry standards.
  • Strong ability to implement and prototype designs in Unity game engine.
  • Game theory and game mechanics design.
  • Create detailed documentation of the Game’s Design both for Clients and for developers.
  • Design game mechanics and systems.
  • Perform in-engine balancing, tweaking and polishing tasks related to game design.
  • Strong mathematical skills applied in Spreadsheet/Google Sheets form.
  • Experience designing Game Systems that efficiently achieve specific goals.
  • Ability to create effective and well-documented wireframes for UX/UI.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team towards shared goals.
  • Estimate, prioritize and coordinate game design activities.
  • Coach teammates in game design tasks.
  • Communicate and cooperate with Customers and other Stakeholders.
  • Participate in different Design Department activities to collaborate and coordinate with fellow game designers.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Professional experience in game design: +5 years.
  • Deep experience in prototyping and implementing designs in Unity engine.
  • Experience and passion for mobile hero collector games such as Raid: Shadow Legends, Dragonheir, Watcher of Realms etc.
  • Ability to create games of a wide variety of game genres and for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Deep knowledge creating Game Design Documentation.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with Art and Programming departments.
  • Experience in creating and tuning FTUE and game tutorials.
  • Experience in in-game economy design.
  • Experience working on games from pre-production to release and LiveOps.
  • Shipped multiple game titles as Game Designer.
  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, capable of working autonomously and energetic.
Desirable Pluses:
  • Experience developing feature/game pitches.
  • Experience working with Unity and Unreal game engines.
  • Basic scripting skills to adjust features created by developers.
  • Experience developing for PC and console platforms.
  • Experience with mobile and WebGL games.
  • Knowledge of NFT Game Design.
  • Experience with play to earn concepts.
