Job Description
As a Software Engineer, you'll join our Enterprise Risk Solutions team where you'll contribute to the design, enhancement, and construction of our transactional Fraud detection engine within an agile development environment. You'll collaborate with colleagues who will both support and challenge you on a daily basis.
You'll be part of teams assigned with various projects, which involve full stack development of real-time transactional services, REST services API, and Container-based services. These services are designed to be highly functional, distributed, secure, scalable, and resilient.
We believe in the power of self-managing Agile teams who are responsible for building products from start to finish. Our focus is on unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration to ensure excellent code quality. The code you write will move to production in just a few days and will be used by a vast customer base including well-known companies like Facebook, Nike, FedEx, and Apple.
Some of Your Key Responsibilities
As part of our engineering team, your role extends beyond just writing code:
· You'll assist our customers in achieving their objectives by understanding their requirements and responding to their business needs.
· You'll employ technologies such as Java, REST, NoSQL, Docker, and more.
· You'll analyze business requirements and design robust and scalable solutions, along with providing technical documentation.
· You'll exploit new technologies to build the next generation of Risk Services, and leverage data science tools like Big Data and Machine Learning algorithms.
· You'll develop and deliver new features in a fast-paced environment.
· Your work and academic background should demonstrate proficiency and comfort with programming languages, code quality initiatives, scripting languages, and operating systems.
· Your professional DNA should include adherence to and creation of software best practices and processes.
· You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and most importantly, be a team player
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
• 2 or more years of work experience
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or related fields.
• Solid knowledge of Java or similar object-oriented languages, supported by significant academic or professional experience.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
• Exposure to data science concepts, including Big Data, AI, and Machine Learning.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodology, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), utilizing technologies such as Git, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, Junit.
• Experience with container-based technologies such as Docker is a plus.
• A curious and creative mindset for innovative problem-solving.
• Ability to see the big picture while staying focused on immediate goals.
• Knowledge of how to design, implement, and manage applications on the cloud, including understanding of microservices architecture, serverless architecture, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
