For our cilient, Airly, we are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join our software development team. The Tech Lead will oversee the technical aspects of a product currently in development from scratch (MVP phase, first clients) with substantial scaling potential. This role involves managing team performance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions, and actively co-developing these solutions with the team.

As the Tech Lead, you will occupy an independent position with no technical roles overhead, assuming full responsibility for all critical technical decisions, including architectural choices.

 

Areas of Responsibility:

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the software development team, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and quality guidelines. We are looking for an active team leader who also enjoys hands-on coding

  • Oversee and participate in the architectural design, development, and implementation of scalable, maintainable software architectures, utilizing outside experts when necessary.

  • Manage technical debt, perform risk assessments, and propose mitigation plans.

  • Evaluate and implement tools and practices to enhance development processes and optimize performance, scalability, and reliability. Set, track, and evaluate technical KPIs for quality assurance, security, and performance.

  • Establish code reviews and testing best practices, addressing technical challenges and bottlenecks.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate them into the development process.

What skills will help you?/Technical Skills:

  • Significant software development experience (e.g., 7+ years).

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, both Back-End (including Java) and Front-End (including React or Angular, and strong CSS & browser knowledge).

  • Experience and practical approach to testing management.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).

  • Experience with cloud services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, Time series DB).

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

  • C1 English level 

Team Management:

  • Evaluate developers' work, develop methods to increase productivity, and ensure team performance aligns with company goals.

  • Manage team workload, delegate tasks effectively, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.

  • Lead retrospective meetings, motivate professional development, and communicate effectively with other departments.

  • Present technical concepts and project updates to senior management and stakeholders.

  • 3+ years in an independent technical leadership or team lead role

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality client-facing software projects on time.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Exhibits maturity in managing priorities, time, and processes effectively.

  • Proficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously

Product Delivery:

  • Collaborate with the product owner and stakeholders to refine requirements and propose the best technical solutions.

  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of tasks, present new features, and address client-reported bugs.

  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues for smooth operation.

“Would be a plus” qualifications:

  • Experience as a Software Architect.

  • Experience or willingness to develop in AI.

  • Experience in building GIS systems or with Microsoft Office Add-ins environment.
