Sagan represents a global e-commerce marketplace specializing in high-value equipment. The company is scaling rapidly and requires a skilled finance leader to oversee multi-currency transactions, optimize financial processes, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead its financial operations, managing global transactions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone with experience handling multi-currency payments, financial reconciliations, and tax coordination in an e-commerce or marketplace environment. The Finance Manager will collaborate closely with the company's CPA and executive leadership, with the potential to work alongside a fractional CFO in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

  1. Oversee payment service provider (PSP) pay-ins from buyers in multiple global currencies, ensuring accurate allocation to escrow accounts.
  2. Supervise timely seller payouts, ensuring a smooth experience while retaining company fees.
  3. Manage QuickBooks, including banking, reporting, and accounts payable.
  4. Handle sales tax processes through Avalara.
  5. Resolve payment flow challenges with payees and PSP support.
  6. Maintain real-time financial visibility through shared tracking tools.

Weekly Oversight:

  1. Lead accounts payable (A/P) and cash flow management.
  2. Provide weekly reports on Global Wallet balances and transaction flows.
  3. Prepare executive dashboards detailing sales, profit breakdowns, and marketplace performance.

Monthly Duties:

  1. Perform bank reconciliations and align QuickBooks with PSP records.
  2. Ensure timely month-end financial close and reporting.
  3. Collaborate with the CPA and executive team on financial reviews.

Annual and Compliance Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with the CPA to complete year-end financials and tax filings.
  2. Provide documentation for audits and compliance reporting.

Strategic Financial Management:

  1. Work with PSP representatives and developers to optimize payment systems.
  2. Negotiate with lenders and banks to optimize financing and debt costs.
  3. Identify cost-saving opportunities in payment processes and operations.
  4. Support future integration with a fractional CFO as the company scales.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  1. Fast and accurate seller payouts.
  2. Secure, well-documented payment processing.
  3. Timely and CPA-approved financial reports.
  4. Strong communication with executives, customers, and external partners.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  2. 3-5 years of experience in financial management, ideally in a global e-commerce or marketplace environment.
  3. Proficiency in QuickBooks and multi-currency payment platforms.
  4. Strong knowledge of A/P, cash flow management, PSP reconciliation, and tax compliance.
  5. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with executives, CPAs, and external partners.
  6. Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving financial strategies.

Nice-to-Haves:

  1. Experience managing PSPs for e-commerce or marketplaces.
  2. Background in year-end close and tax return coordination.
  3. Proven success in cost-saving initiatives.
  4. Ability to manage short-term A/P challenges.
