Packet Core Solution Engineer – Summer Trainee

Summer Trainee is a short-term paid internship that allows you to kickstart your fabulous journey in the IT and Telecom world. As our Trainee, you can get your first experience and learn from the best experts in this field. The internship usually lasts 3 months from July to September. Our team CNS Services & Care is a part of CNS Cloud and Network Services department. We create value for communication service providers and enterprise customers by leading the transition to cloud-native software and as-a-service delivery models. RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of our team, you will be:

  • introducing to the documentation, depending on the packet core product life cycle related to design, integration, solution, and upgrade of the 3G, 4G & 5GC elements and architectures within the Data Core domain
  • working with VNF/CNF deployment and integration on K8s environment
  • working with Integration and testing on customer clouds and Nokia labs
  • troubleshooting and problem-solving on networking, infrastructure, and application level
  • supporting Software upgrades execution on 5G network architecture components
  • working closely with the Packet Core team to ensure the solutions meet the business requirements and are captured, understood, and deployed into the core network

Our team works with:

  • 5G Network Architecture functions like AMF, UPF, SMF, NSSF which are built over virtualized or containerized environment built by Nokia or open-source solution
  • IP/MPLS for end-to-end interconnection where routing and switching mechanisms are used
  • Linux, operating system for most of our solutions
  • Open Stack, VMware but much more often Kubernetes as a space for our applications
  • besides that, Python is the most often programming language we use to automate our processes
REQUIRED SKILLS

You should have:

  • active student status (for at least one year)
  • good English, both spoken and written
  • ready to work full-time during the summer time
  • solid academic background within Telecommunication, Computer Science, or related fields
  • basic IP and Linux knowledge
  • basic programming skills
  • basic knowledge of containerization and virtualization
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • analytical and creative skills
  • ability to make decisions quickly

We are looking for a student with past experience, or a keen interest and a good understanding of professional technical communication. You have learned the basics of technical communication either through some hands-on experience or through your studies, with the most common professional authoring tools.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • the ability to solve complex problems by breaking them down into simple sub-factors
