Join our team as an Automation Test Engineer

In your role as an Automation Test Engineer, you will be responsible for co-creating a new test approach, testing our bank-wide processes (including technical implementation of BPMN workflows). This includes developing, configuring, and maintaining automated tests.

Your tasks will be to ensure high stability of our applications and processes on production environments. This includes providing proper test documentation and necessary preventive actions needed to have stable production rollouts without incidents.

You will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for BPMN workflows.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and process owners to understand the requirements and ensure that the testing process is aligned with the workflow.
  • Create technical and/or business-focused test cases based on business requirements and the technical design.
  • Plan automated test data generation.
  • Cross-team collaboration as well as close collaboration with developers inside the team.
  • Write, review, and optimize automation test scripts and frameworks using industry-standard tools and languages.
  • Plan, run, and manage results of tests.
  • Create logs and test documentation.
Which technology & skills are important for us?
  • Experience with creating automation test cases (especially for testing company-wide BPMN workflows with tools like Camunda).
  • Experience in UI test automation, backend test automation (Java, Kafka, REST Assured).
  • Practical knowledge of testing tools and frameworks like Cucumber, Playwright, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience in using tools like Postman, Octane (or HPALM), Jira could be handy.

Description Of The Cluster

Customer Data Management (CDM) harmonizes the currently heterogeneous application landscape for customer master data to enable fast and efficient access across the bank and to create the basis for a new standard of data quality. We create group-wide views of the personal and customer master data and link these to alliances for internal and regulatory processes.

CORE is an acronym for Commerzbank Related Entities. CORE is a group-wide static/master data application of Commerzbank AG which focuses on person, organization, and group views. CORE comprises different modules like CORE Person, CORE GlobalParty & Verbund, and CORE Admin. With a newly written ONE.Person frontend that enables online customers to self-manage static data. CDM Cluster plays a vital role in enabling processes for documents and process automation. The importance of person, organization, and group view has grown significantly in the last years because of regulatory requirements and from the sales point of view. It is therefore an integral part of our business model.
