Role purpose

Responsible for the handling of non-complex Subject Access Requests, data requests and related matters within B&Q and ensuring data protection compliance within ONE Kingfisher.

What's the job

  • Processing Subject Access Requests ("SARs") and Data Requests from customers, employees and third parties, dealing with them promptly and in compliance with GDPR. Operating a diary management system to ensure legal deadlines are met.
  • Checking Data Protection mailbox on a regular basis to ensure allocated matters are picked up, actioned, and escalated as appropriate to the Data Protection team.
  • Redacting SARs including supporting the Data Protection Advisors with redacting as and when required.
  • Liaising with data subjects and their representatives on non-complex data requests and SARs.
  • Supporting the Data Protection Partner where appropriate.
  • Assisting the Data Protection team in legal records management and filing, and archiving.
  • Managing legal risk and seeking guidance where appropriate.
  • Supporting the Data Protection Partner in ad-hoc data protection/Legal team initiatives.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in dealing with consumer matters including communicating with customers (both written and verbal)
  • Experience in dealing with high volume caseloads
  • Organisation, accuracy, and eye for detail
  • Excellent word processing skills
