Job SummaryIA Construction has an opening for a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at our Franklin Asphalt Plant.
Main Responsibilities- Responsible for efficient bituminous asphalt testing, asphalt content and gradation, maximum theoretical density of mix and specific gravity of compacted mix.
- Be engaged and aware in safety and actively participate in Daily Safety Huddles.
- Aggregate material testing, sampling, absorption, LA Abrasion, specifications, un-compacted voids, Sodium / Magnesium Loss, crush counts.
- Inventory products, QC sampling, schedules, specifications, testing, gradations, and crush gravity of compacted mix efficiently.
- Bituminous mix design development, complete overview of Pennsylvania design processes for HMC and WMA as per job specifications.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Computer, fax, printer, and copier experience.
- Ability to build professional relationships with coworkers, management, and customers.
- Safety Conscience and safety oriented.
- Some mechanical and maintenance skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to understand several types of software programs.
- Comprehend ASTM and AASHTO standards and procedures.
- May require walking, standing or sitting for periods of time.
- Able to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work various shifts.
- Lifting and carrying of various items is required.
