Keywords: Obtaining of medical radionuclides, optimization of activation conditions, gamma ray spectrometry, simulation and modelling of activation

A person employed as an adiunkt-tenure (assistant professor) for an indefinite period at the Department of Nuclear Physical Chemistry (NZ64) at IFJ PAN will be obliged to participate in work on research topics and projects implemented and planned at the NZ64 Department.

The basic tasks of the employed person will include: research work on obtaining radionuclide substances using AIC-144 cyclotron.

The employed person will also be obliged to disseminate the results of research in the form of publications in leading scientific journals indexed by JCR and by presentations at seminars and conferences, including international ones. This person will also be obliged to apply for external funding for research.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Habilitated doctor's degree in physical sciences or related disciplines, or a doctoral degree in physical sciences or related disciplines with scientific achievements that largely meet the requirements for candidates for the habilitated doctor's degree.
  • Qualifications necessary to carry out research tasks carried out in NZ64.
  • Knowledge of the subject of research in the field of target activation using a cyclotron, spectrometric analysis of gamma radiation, simulation and computational methods.
  • Experience in the field of target activation, determination of cross-sections.
  • Ability to work with radioactive materials.
  • Good knowledge of issues related to the use of radionuclides for nuclear medicine.
  • Knowledge of radiochemical methods.
  • Availability.

Full-time position, no teaching obligations - only research. Annual leave 36 days. Selection process

All applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee selects the candidates to be invited to interviews based on submitted documents.

  • Interviews with candidates shall take place from June 9th to June 11th, 2025. Candidates qualified for interviews shall be notified by e-mail about the exact date of the Interview by May 26th, 2025. During the interview, the candidate shall be required to give a presentation, stored on a pen drive, lasting 10 minutes at maximum which shall present the candidate's most important achievement.
  • The competition shall be concluded by June 27th, 2025.
  • Each candidate shall be notified by e-mail about the results of the competition.
  • The final decision on employing and salary shall be taken by IFJ PAN Director.

Additional comments:

A person employed at the position of Assistant Professor with a PhD degree will receive a monthly basic salary of PLN 7,000 gross, and with a postdoctoral degree of PLN 7,800 gross. The total amount of remuneration is influenced by additional components, such as: length of service and allowance for working under conditions of exposure to ionizing radiation (if applicable).
