We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team and help us achieve our goals.
Description:
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, the qualifying candidate will be part of the Embedded Software App team in developing, sustaining, and supporting firmware and platforms for across Fluke's product line. Work on this team will be involved in the development of challenging, cutting-edge firmware for handheld and benchtop instruments used in test and measurement, calibration, networking, infrared/acoustic imaging, and power quality.
This candidate will have significant input and responsibility for designing and implementing embedded software solutions for our products. They will continuously design, develop, and improve the existing firmware platform to meet the needs of our customers and maintain a robust, modern development environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a contributor to major development projects, including being a technical leader for components within such developments.
- Assignments include development of new applications, features, enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing firmware.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain firmware based for Embedded Linux firmware application for ARM core processors.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documents (Embedded Software Design Document), diagrams, code comments and readable code.
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals.
- Provide guidance and work direction to junior engineers as we grow.
- Be part of and build a positive work culture on-site, inclusive of others in remote locations.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree/Master of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field of study with a strong embedded firmware/software development background.
- At least 8+ years in C/C++ coding experience.
- Experience with Agile-based development process, preferably some flavor of Scrum, on multiple projects.
- At least 8+ years' experience developing software for technical products, experience with full software lifecycle.
- At least 8+ years professional software development experience in Linux application software on Linux OS/ARM core processor.
- Demonstrable experience in other languages (Python, etc) is a bonus, as well as a wide experience of using different frameworks (Qt, etc) is of interest.
- Excellent communication skills – you will have colleagues in Austria, Germany and the UK.
- Willingness to travel on occasion (US/EU/UK).
